VTG Wild River Studio Pottery Plate Hand Thrown Stoneware Earth Tone 14. This hand-thrown stoneware plate was produced by Wild River, an American studio pottery workshop active in the late 20th century. The plate features a broad rim and shallow well, finished in a restrained earth-tone glaze with layered sand, olive, and warm brown tonal fields that emphasize surface depth and firing variation.
The underside bears the hand-applied Wild River maker's mark with pine tree motif, consistent with studio-scale production rather than industrial manufacture. Substantial in scale, this piece reflects the functional studio pottery tradition rooted in Arts & Crafts values and regional American craft practice.This wonderful set of plates is from Wild River Pottery, which is produced on the Eel River in Mendocino County, California. The plates are designed and handcrafted by Herb Roth, who has been producing pottery for 40 years. All his work is created on a kick wheel & is intended for daily use. Each piece is individually trimmed and then glazed with his own 100% safe, non-toxic, high fire glazes. The resulting stoneware is oven proof, microwave, free and dishwasher safe.
