Henry Kendall Gernhardt Studio Pottery Bowl. Decorated in thick lightly textured matte brown glazes. Layering of glazes results in intersecting abstract design on interior and exterior. Stands approximately 5ΒΌ" tall and measures 8" wide. Bottom has incised HG mark.
Minor signs of age and wear. Two very minor instances of glaze cracking, original to make. Rare opportunity for serious collectors. Henry Gernhardt studied under Frans Wildenhain at the Rochester Institute of Technology.
He was a Fulbright scholar in Finland and won a Ford Grant to Japan. His work is highly sought after and seldom comes up for sale. This item is in the category "Pottery & Glass\Decorative Pottery & Glassware\Vases".
