Vintage Tremaen Pottery Ruan Hieroglyphic Lamp Base 1978-1980

This is a Hieroglyphic Ruan lamp base made by Peter Ellery. He trained in ceramics and fine art at Bath college. His pottery was originally set up in Marazion in 1968 later moving to larger premises in Newlyn. Peter continued potting until 1988.

His pottery, particularly the lamps are very highly regarded and collectable. Unmarked but if you go on the Cornish pottery web(Tremaen pottery)site you will see examples of these. For the last 10 years of his life he concentrated on painting , he died in 1998. This lamp base is in Excellent condition. 4 inches deep , 6 inches wide.
