Vintage PAIR Incredible CLAY BUST original works African American studio pottery
A beautiful pair of original busts on their working armatures. Each measure about 17 high. Heads themselves are about 7" wide and 9" deep, base is larger. Both show wonderful detail but still the beautiful workmanship of the original artist.
Beautifully worked pair, display beautifully on the rustic base of the original stands. A fantastic addition to any modern mantle or study, or certainly hold their own in any art collection.
Please feel free to ask any questions, unfortunately I don't have much for the provenance on them, but I'd guess them to be a few decades old are this point. See images for what little cracking already exists from when they dried originally. They do seem solid and firm enough that I wouldn't expect further cracking whatsoever.
