Vintage Mid Century 50s Nehemia Azaz Harsa Studio Pottery Vase Israel
Wonderful Vintage Mid Century 1950s Nehemia Azaz??? Beer Sheva, Israel Studio Pottery Large Atomic Shaped Vase! This is a stunning vase and is a statement piece for sure. It is large, heavy, and has a fantastic atomic UFO-like shape to the base.
Abstract dashes of greens, blacks and yellows on the off white form make the whole piece really pop! The vase is signed Harsa for Harsa Factory, Beer Sheva, Isreal and is also sighed by Nehemia Azaz who was the founder and head of the artistic department at Harsa Factory! This piece is likely within that range, give or take a couple years. You can even see a piece of the same shape in the article snippet in the last photo!
The vase is in wonderful original condition with no chips or cracks (post creation), there is one'cut' in the clay on the rim as can be seen in the second to last photo. This appears to be a slight defect in the mold from production rather than damage after-the-fact.
