This listing is for a large and very impressive southwestern studio pottery raku glazed jar with lid from the mid 20th century. This hand thrown piece rises from a narrow flat round base to a tapering lower section, and widening as it rises to a nearly cylindrical shaped, upper body. It has a strait opening with a flat fitted cover. The body of the jar is decorated with metallic effect raku glazes and matt textured finishes.
This unique urn measures approximately 12.25" high x 7.75" diameter. In very good overall condition, it shows wear consistent with age and use, as shown in the photos. It is signed on the base. View photos for any and all condition issues.
