Vintage Danish Art Pottery Lamp Einar Johansen Own Studio Sage Green
Vintage Danish Small Art Pottery Lamp by Einar Johansen c. This stunning piece is in very good condition. The lamp is marked to the underside of the base with the mark of Einar Johansen; a stylized EJ mark. After which he was employed by Soholm until 1968. In the early 1970's he worked for Knabstrup. The glaze features a beautiful and subtle sage green glaze and a simple abstract patterning of ribbed panels. The piece was most likely produced in the 1950's. The lamp is a factory first.
It has some subtle crazing to the glaze from age. There are no chips or cracks and no scratches or other marks. There is a vintage danish lamp holder that fits a standard sized screw in bulb. All of the wiring has been redone and it has been safety tested and tagged by an electrician.
The lamp is matched with a Danish style folded shade which clips on to the light bulb. Please note if you do not want the shade and want to fit a new commercially available Australian shade you will need to have a new fitting put on the piece by an electrician. The existing shade is covered in a finely woven white fabric that is in good condition but does have a few very light small marks as shown in the photos.
The lamp stands 200mm tall to the top of the pottery section (base of the fitting) and approximately 100mm across the base. The lamp with its shade is around 350mm tall.
