Vintage Brown Clay Pottery Vase Charles Counts Beaver Ridge Rising Fawn

This is one of his earlier works and is signed Beaver Ridge. It is from his first pottery studio in. Which was in operation from 1959 to 1961. According to a contemporary brochure from Beaver Ridge Pottery: Since 1959 Mr. Counts has worked in his own studio which he calls Beaver Ridge Pottery....

There he produces pottery thrown on a kick wheel, glazed in rich earthy glazes and fired to a stoneware temperature. His wife [Rubynelle] assists him in the production. " The brochure also states: "Look for the Beaver Ridge signature.

And most of his early works are signed only Beaver Ridge or Rising Fawn. This vase is 6 1/2" tall with a 3" diameter base and 3 1/2 diameter mouth. It has a dark brown glaze on the inside of the vase and the foot. The exterior of the vase is matte brown with incised and white lines circling the body.
