Vintage Art Pottery Vase Signed PH Genter Oxblood Glaze Red Rare 1930s Broadmoor
Headlined by PH Genter, Cecil Jones and Eric Hellman. A group of artists and businessmen joined to form the Broadmoor Art Pottery and Tile Company in Colorado Springs in 1933 primarily for tile production. Denver was the location of Broadmoor Pavers, the sewer pipe division of the business. With the depression in full swing, they only lasted until 1937, after which the Broadmoor Art Pottery Factory was moved to 9th and Speer in Denver to take advantage of clay deposits in the Golden, Colorado area. JB Hunt and PH Genter ran the works until 1939 when it finally closed. This is a beautiful example of their art pottery production. The plain, yet elegantly shaped vase has their famous deep red or oxblood high glaze finish. To find a signed piece is quite rare in addition to the fact that the art company only existed for a couple of years. I have other items listed.
