Vintage 1980 Michael Sherrill 7 Salt Glaze Landscape Vase NC Studio Pottery

Beautiful early work by the renowned contemporary artist, Michael Sherrill. Sherrill has an extensive history of different art mediums, including clay, metal, and glass. He is featured for his work in many museums and collections, including the Mint Museum in Charlotte, the Smithsonian, and was even featured in the White House collection in 1993.

He has received accolades for his work including Artist of the Year by the Mint Museum in 2003. This vase was thrown in 1980. He moved to Western North Carolina in the mid-1970s and his career took off in the 80s. This is a salt-glaze and wood-fired vase. Highly collected by studio pottery enthusiasts.
