This hand thrown pot measures approximately 5 3/8 inches tall, with an upper rim diameter of about 4 1/4 inches. Unpacked, it weighs 1 pound 9.4 ounces. The pot has a matte yellow glaze with brown streaks and specks. This would be a good addition to a collection of vintage American studio ceramics. Identification This vintage pot is by Rossi Reynolds.

It is marked "45" beneath, probably indicating that it was made in 1945. Rossi Reynolds and his wife, Eileen, are listed in the Vasefinder Online Museum. The husband and wife team produced pottery in San Francisco; she began her studio in 1943.

Per Vasefinder, Eileen and Rossi Reynolds exhibited at the Nationals during the late 1940s, and at the Association of San Francisco Potters during the 1950s. After Rossi Reynolds passed away in 1948, Eileen married the potter, Ross Curtis. Eileen and Ross Curtis founded the Sausalito Teahouse Group. Condition The vase looks good overall, with no cracks or repairs. Excess glaze was ground from beneath when this was made; there is a small chip to the bottom (near the "EY" in "REYNOLDS"), possibly related to the grinding process.
