Vase is embossed with the raised verse of a poem A Young Gazelle, The tender leaves, surrender. And the image of a Gazelle standing on it's hind legs eating leaves from a tree. Bottom 2.5 of pot was left unglazed and was blackened in the Raku process.

White glaze appears to be intentionally crazed to allow carbon black to form in the crazes to create a web or lace effect. Vase is marked on the bottom with vintage Tony Evans Studio production marks(see photos).
