STEPHEN POLCHERT studio art pottery vintage small VASE volcanic glaze Nebraska

Very unusual vintage STEPHEN POLCHERT small vase studio pottery piece that is roughly 3" tall and about 3.5" wide approx. And bottom date is hard to read but it looks to me like 86, hard to read that part of his date code on this one. Volcanic glazes like this typically drip onto the kiln shelf and the potter normally grinds the edges on the base, which is what you see here- this ground base bubbly area around the foot of this pot is NOT damage, it is how the potter prepared this piece for presentation, all original to the piece. Polchert has a lot of wild experimental pieces and glazes... This one is no exception, it is really an oddball one.
