Signed vintage porcelain studio pottery ceramics vase

I acquired this large piece of studio pottery at an estate sale in Redding, California. This vase is signed vertically on the side of the body, but I have been unsuccessful in deciphering the name.

Directly below the signature are two square impressions, possibly a maker's mark. These same marks are on the opposite side of the vase as well. The style is reminiscent of Sandra's work. She was a student of Peter Voulkos and Paul Soldner and was known for her large pieces done on a wheel. The deep thumbprint and swirling texture inside this vessel were common to her work, as were the arched glazing, quick brushwork and incisions. It has been verified that this is not Sandra Johnstone's work. I do suspect that the potter studied with her, though.

She taught numerous classes in Napa and elsewhere here in California. There was a kiln and lots of pottery supplies at the estate sale.

It weighs almost nine pounds and measures 10" wide and 11" tall. It's quite large and hefty. There isn't any damage. Rather what you are seeing in the photos are cracks from the firing process, mostly visible on the bottom. There is also a hairline surface crack that extends from the square impressions directly beneath the signature and also on the opposite side, both down at the base. I've had the pleasure of enjoying this vessel for a few years now. It's much more vibrant and alive in person than in my photos. I'm tempted to try some photos outside in a natural setting. I'll be sure to post them here if they turn out nicely. I sincerely hope you enjoy this masterful work as much I have. Please let me know if you have any questions.
