He was eventually discovered by some interior designers and the rest is history. His work uses various techniques including molds to keep a consistent shape, but every piece is hand painted and decorated.
His work has been featured in The New York Times, Architectural Digest and House and Garden (according to Invaluable. This piece is a round dish of considerable weight in a wonderful light brown color.
I liken it to unbaked cookie dough color! It is hand decorated with a "piping" of black and white in a checkered, or diamond, pattern. It is signed on the back "Roy Hamilton" and features his stamp on the side - see photos.
I believe the stamp is a tree. Measures 8 1/4" in diameter and 1 5/8" in depth. There are no chips, cracks or scratches in the dish itself. There is some color loss in the decorative piping. See photo 10 for location and photos 11 & 12 for a closer look. You deserve a Roy Hamilton!
