This hand thrown vase has outstanding, deeply textured decoration on its exterior. It stands approximately 10 inches tall, and it has a maximum diameter of about 7 inches. Unpacked, it weighs 4 pounds 7.5 ounces. This would be a super addition to a collection of studio art pottery. Identification This piece has an impressed marking beneath, which looks like a stylized bird. The maker and exact age are not known, but it is believed to be vintage. This piece was acquired in Northern California.It bears similarities to pots made at Pond Farm (shape, decoration style, and clay), and it may have been made by a Pond Farm student. Condition This vase looks great overall, with no chips or cracks. It has light wear overall, with some wear marks to the unglazed base. The interior has some soiling from use.
