Frances Lehnert Ceramic Vase Ohio Studio Pottery Vintage Stoneware Pot 8.25H. It features a hand built clay slab topped with a wheel thrown neck and mouth. The top slab of the square/cube form is form features a dimensional numbers and letters texture pattern stamped into the surface of the clay and glazed in a dark chocolate tone which provides high contrast with surrounding surface glaze of reddish tan rust tones speckled with dark brown splatters. The piece does have wear including some chipping, open air holes/bubbles, blowouts and more so PLEASE read complete details below and review photos closely for condition and please let me know if you would like additional info, details or photos of the pot. About the artist (per the Canton Museum Of Art): Frances Lehnert was born in 1928 in Sharon, Pennsylvania. She has her BA from Indian University of Pennsylvania and her MFA from Kent State University. Through the years, Lehnert has held a number of teaching positions, including at the Kent State University Art Department. For eight and a half years she was curator of education and ceramics at the Canton Museum of Art. Lehnert worked in ceramics from 1968 until 1995; after retiring from the Museum she started to work in the medium of pastels.
