Rare Floyd Kemp Mid Century Modern Art Pottery. Potter Floyd Kemp was a popular art professor at Jackson Community College in Jackson, Michigan 1970s-1990s. He taught all the ceramics classes and inspired a generation of students. His pieces are hard to come by, and a major find for Midwest collectors. His work echoes the tradition functional pottery inspired by English potters such as Bernard Leach.
Of University of Iowa MFA 1965. Retired to Black Mountain, North Carolina, and I hear he hung up his potters apron a few years ago.
