Exceptional Vintage German Studio Pottery Vase MID Century Modern Hand Made
Presenting an exquisite Mid Century vintage German studio pottery vase. This impressive piece has a bold sculptural form which has been hand crafted in thick and chunky dark brown clay.
A wide scalloped topped band finished in rich copper oxide green glaze surrounds the cylindrical body and trims the top rim while brushed bands of blue surround the lower portion of the vessel and detail the neck. The body of the vessel has been finished in a cream glaze which, despite its thick glassy nature, still allows the chunky texture of the clay body to show through. The layers of glaze beautifully blend and combine to create a striking range of tones and random glaze effects. Not only is this vessel aesthetically pleasing its hand crafted form is incredibly tactile and a a true delight to hold.
