EXCEPTIONAL HAND PAINTED BOWL BY ALEXANDER TAKACS. Presenting a magnificent Australian studio pottery bowl created and signed by Alexander Takacs. This is a really appealing hand painted example, with a fabulously sleek modernist form and magnificent black lady design. This exceptionally fine example has a sleekly curved heart shaped form. This piece has been wonderfully hand decorated with an exotic black African lady figure captured in fluid movement. The lady is rendered in black with additional inscribed detailing atop a green and yellow sponged background atop the cream toned pottery. The African lady has an exuberant tribal energy, filling the interior of the bowl, her sleek form is perfectly balanced by the placement of a drum. SIZE: This impressive piece measures 230mms x 210mms in diameter and stands 55mms tall. CONDITION: This stunning bowl is presented in excellent vintage condition, with no chips, cracks, breaks or repairs. There is light overall crazing as is to be expected with a piece of this vintage but mentioned for complete accuracy. This piece has been exceptionally well cared for and presents spectacularly. MARKS: This piece is beautifully signed to the reverse with an inscribed signature "Alexander Australia No 183". This exquisite piece would make a fine addition to any Australian pottery or Alexander Takacs collection.
