Excellent vintage condition with no damage; rare early examples from her estate signed with her hoka & in Japanese. YOU GET ALL 4 PIECES 3 "singles" & 1 "double ". THE ARTIST: Heiju Oak Packard was a profound. Japanese American artist out of Ann Arbor Michigan. "Since the age of four, Heiju Oak Packard was fascinated by human perception of the world that surrounds us, especially the hidden forces that assuredly characterize the state of being "alive What makes a collection of disparate elements transform itself miraculously into an independent, living, breathing entity that resonates in the hearts, minds, and souls of humans who come into contact with it?

Packard's work, she tries to capture this mysterious, dynamic interplay of the forces that generate and maintain seeming equilibrium in the various forms of life on earth. She made incredible pottery in the 60s & 70s & then later became known for her wall weavings , rug making, Oshibana, etc her wall weavings were exhibited post mortem many were auctioned off & went for very high sums Heiju passed in 2013 , but she will not be forgotten she was very well loved by her husband Jim, her fellow artists, her friends, her neighbors she was a private & humble lady, so you will not find an obit on her (her wishes) & sites like WSG Gallery (AA, Mi) & the University of Michigan Museum of Art have made their postings of her art private the WORK : as stated, you will recive all 4 of these unique works, which look fine on their own, but even better as a sculptural grouping also note bases on some are formed so that pot sits at an angle (see images) FYI: we own & viewed hundreds of examples of her work & these are the ONLY ones we have ever seen that have... Which we will treasure for the rest of our lives we show an image so you may soak in her wide range of talent the rug is not for sale until we leave this Earth!

And is important in all forms of relationships! THANKS FOR TAKING THE TIME TO ACTUALLY READ THIS.. & READ OUR FEEDBACK as well... We are 1 of the GOOD GUYS.... A ONLY , however on small items..

Some day we will get around to offering that as well. Her bird nest collection :>. The LONG and WINDING ROAD of SMALL PRINT. So sorry to have to go on & on about this folks.......

Well those are important to the sellers ratings.. & a couple of those categories... Then packaging supplies & cost of gas to drop off packages , the many hours of labor ; etc, etc.... Who offer larger items such as furniture / large art / lighting / etc we don't "create" postal costs..

But we already spend a couple thousand a year just on packing supplies so that your items arrive safely! Another factor a lot of buyers may not realize... When we started over TWENTY years ago... I believe the FF was 2.8 %? Now its nearly 10 %....... We supply several images in ALL of our listings..... & at times we show images with giant arrows pointing at any flaws we feel not only need to be mentioned...

But also pointed out visually.. Won't be from our end...

At some point we check our emails 7 days a week & are always quick as possible to respond to any questions..... We apologize for having to spout all this... But believe it or not... Boy oh boy is that a misconception!

& vintage items, are just that : vintage.... & are not going to be mint , because there is no such thing as mint when something is 25 - 75 years young! & we will be here for you WE DO OUR BEST TO ACCURATELY DESCRIBE OUR ITEMS CONDITION.... Despite all the rules regulations & changes we sellers all have to spout off about.... Its been a blast and hopefully will continue to be no matter what new "twists" come our way...
