Vintage mid century Ken Edwards El Palomar Studio large mugs Tonala, Mexico. Rare set of four vintage Ken Edwards Mexican folk art mugs from his El Palomar Studio in Tonala, Mexico.... These beautiful mugs are perfect for favorite beverages and they feature a wide base and a lovely large, comfortable handle.

Delicious creamy colours coppery gold, bronze, pearl grey, blues, cream, a touch of black... They measure 4" tall x 4 1/2" wide on a 6 1/2" base (including handle; 4 3/4" wide without handle) They are immaculate inside and out. Vintage crazing, but nothing crazy. These particular mugs are signed by Ken Edwards.

They feature the motifs famous of Tonala, focusing on the flora and fauna of stunning Jalisco, Mexico. Enjoying a prominent placement are cheeky little quail (a personal favorite). Please note I strongly recommend that these mugs be hand washed and kept out of the microwave. Yes, if you must, they can take the abuse.

But dishwasher soap is very hard on dishes and will eat away at the glaze. Microwaves can hurt ceramics and porcelains because they heat unevenly and can cause the ceramic to explode. Newer ceramics are usually made with microwaving in mind, but older pieces are not. Please know that here at Junk we are freaks about packing securely. Don't laugh too hard when you open the box.
