Fantastic mid-century German vase by KTU Unterstab. A fine example of mid-century German studio pottery! Made around the 1960's in Germany, Langenhessen. The pottery studio was run by Gudrun Unterstab (daughter of Albert Kiessling) and her husband Ralph Unterstab.

The vase was made with an unusual glaze reduction technique that has formed a beautiful pattern of white lines and dots that give it a sort of underwater feel. Kiessling also experimented with similar glazes in the same colour in the decade before he passed away (in 1964). Colour: dark blue and white. Vintage item in EXCELLENT CONDITION.

No chips, no cracks, no noticeable signs of wear, no unpleasant odours. The base is marked: KTU UNTERSTAB and "handmade" (roughly translated). Please note: The photos really don't do it justice because my camera is not very good at taking accurate photos of long tall vases. Approximate packaged weight : 2 Kg. All items have been stored in a non-smoking household and will be thoroughly cleaned just before packing.
