Offered for sale is this very rare coffee pot by Lustre Pottery. This piece was made by Roger Michell and his partner Danka Napiorkowska in their studio prior to the mass production of walking ware by Carlton Ware. These studio made pieces are becoming increasingly harder to find in any condition, and pieces of this size rarely get offered for sale. Sadly, this piece hasn't survived without some damage. The lid has two long cracks in it (if you trace them, they almost meet in the middle), there are two small chips to the feet, which are largely hidden when displayed as well as a small chip to the spout.
There is fine all-over crazing on this piece with some light internal staining (if you look closely, some of this does come through to the outside, but really doesn't affect the display of the piece). Despite these flaws, the coffee pot can be displayed to look almost perfect. This would make a great addition to any walking ware collection. Please examine the photos for close ups of the damage and to get a better idea of the condition. Hand signed to the base of one of the feet "Lustre Pottery England 75".
