Extraordinary design by the renowned Swedish artist Lisa Larson as part of her very popular "Unik" series. 22.8cm wide and 22.8cm tall. Unlike many other ones I've seen from this edition, this cat's face is nice and bright which contrasts perfectly with the darker eyes and beaded decoration that surrounds the face and divides it in the middle. His paws are also very well defined and super-cute.

The cat has blue eyes and the glossy glaze on it's body is a rich orangey-brown colour. It has a neutral matt background and a dark petrol green semi-glossy glaze around the edges. Vintage item in VERY GOOD CONDITION: No chips, cracks or signs of wear to the facade. Overall condition is excellent, except for a shallow scratch / indentation on the back that is a tiny bit visible - but only when the item is viewed up close from the side. At the back of the right side (see photo 5), there are two short manufacturing scratches parallel to each other in a dead straight line that have just clipped the glazed edge.

As you can see from the 5th photo, only the deeper scratch is visible when the item is hanging on the wall - and that is. If the person looks directly at the edge from the side at a close distance (which one doesn't normally do when it's on display). Therefore, it is not noticeable when on display u. Nless someone was standing right against the wall (like my camera angle in the photo). It looks very much like a manufacturing flaw to me e. After getting stuck to the rack during firing in the kiln. However, regardless of how these scratches occurred I have reduced the price.

Please note: although it is barely noticeable from the side, it would be easy to conceal with a touch of black or dark grey paint. The rest of the edges and all the relief work are in perfect condition (just like in image 4 and cat close ups). Signed "LISA L" in the lower right corner. Two vintage Gustavsberg stickers on the back and a fixture to hang it on the wall.

I carefully inspect all items for sale and strive to make my photos as accurate as possible both in terms of colour, tone and condition. However, the true colour of glazes or general appearance of items may vary slightly to photographs (which can never be 100% accurate). All vintage items are "used" items so may show signs of wear on the base of the object (or back of wall plaques). "Excellent condition" generally means no damage and no obvious or noticeable signs of wear.

"Very good condition" means no damage but has some noticeable minor signs of wear, even if this is mainly when viewed up close but is not noticeable when the item is viewed on display. For the most noticeable signs of wear, I will try to be as descriptive as possible (unlike most sellers) to avoid disappointment when the item arrives. However, please bear in mind that I have a tendency to be pedantic and over-scrupulous so please do not be put off by my detailed descriptions of imperfections or signs of wear! When I show close-up photos of scuff marks or other imperfections (such as glaze crazing or manufacturing flaws), they tend to look worse / more prominent than to the eye (in person), so please also bear this in mind. Regardless of condition, hand made vintage ceramics can often have marks to the base (or back of wall plaques) either from wear or from the manufacturing process (such as scuff marks or indentations / small chips) which I do not consider imperfections or damage, unless it is visible when the item is on display or if it affects the stability or function of the item.
