Lamp to top of socket: 21.75. Lamp to top of finial: 32. Weight (not including cord): 15 lbs. This is one of two impressive pottery lamps I have listed by Bob Sakoda. They are slightly different designs, but close enough that they would look good together if you bought the pair.
They are cylinder shaped with designs painted in sections on the sides and the negative space carved out. This lamp has three sections on the lid, three on the shoulder, and three around the sides, all with a zig-zag and wavy line pattern painted on.
This lamp is made from two pieces of pottery, the main section and a disc-shaped lid on top. It is signed and dated Sakoda 79 on the bottom. Measured by itself, the pottery is about 18.5 tall and 9 1/3 wide. It has been tested to make sure it works, and is set for a three-way bulb. There arent very many chips in the ceramic, and theyre tought to spot in the rough surface. There are about a half dozen chips in the painted section, where the glaze came off and the unglazed pottery shows through. The stoneware surface is rough and more prone to chips than other ceramic lamps, especially because this clay has tiny rocks in it. _gsrx_vers_827 GS 7.0.13 (827).
