It has a sculptural, mid-century modern form, with its very narrow neck and swollen body. There are worn green felt dots beneath.This pot would be a super addition to a vintage studio ceramics collection. Identification This piece has two ciphers or chop marks to its lower side edge. One is the flower pot cipher mark used by Pacific Stoneware; the oval mark is likely an artist mark, but the exact artist is not known. The age of this vintage pot is not known.
Per the Vasefinder online museum, Pacific Stoneware was owned by Bennett Welsh from 1960 to 1973. Welsh acted as a teacher and mentor to the other potters who worked with him.
Condition This pot looks great overall, with no chips or cracks. It has very light wear overall, with light wear to its base. Variations in glazing are as made; there are some lighter colored glaze drips, as made.
