Vintage Studio Pottery Mcm Planter Set Earthy Mid Century Modern Architectural

This pair are quite large. They measure 18"hx16"d and 17.75"hx16.25"d. As far as we can identify them via knowledgeable resources, these are not by David Cressey, though they do resemble his work in some aspects. They have a dipped glazing design and have an earthy look.

Our resource believes they are must likely from around the same time period as Cressey's work. They are hand made, wheel thrown pots. My favorite part of the handmade design is the couple of fingerprints of glaze on the unglazed portion around the rim.

They are expertly made and sturdy. They are heavy duty without being clunky. They have no chips or cracks. There are two notable esthetic issues.

One is the inner water marks. Secondly, the outside of both have what appears to be overspray of most likely house paint on them. This has been tested in a small portion for removability.

It comes off fairly easily with nail polish remover. However, we do not believe it is in the best interest of the pot for us to attempt to clean it this way. Please ask if you would like more details or photos.
