Glazes: Frequently used Tenmoku (metallic dark brown with oil-spotting), celadon green, oxblood red, and "flung" or splash designs. Forms: Primarily functional pieces including teapots, sturdy bowls, pitchers, and cups. Technique: He was a master of single-firing, a difficult process where glaze is applied to raw clay and fired once to maturity. Materials: Early works utilized local red clay; later pieces transitioned to stoneware and porcelain.
