1995 JS Pottery Folk Art Face Jug Snake Jack Sexton Studio Pottery NC Vintage

1995 JS Pottery - Folk Art Face Jug 8.5 Snake Diamond Green Eyes Jack Sexton NC Vintage. Base is incised with JS Pottery, Lewell NC, date made 1999, and'face made by' with Sexton signature.

Jack started making pottery in Macon GA where he learned to turn pots eventually landing in NC. Dark green alkaline glaze in a drip pattern.

A thin snake head above the left eye and the body runs across the jug behind the right eye. Neon yellow diamond eyes with a green center strongly standout from the dark glaze. The mouth with 3 large teeth lay offset. Beautiful incision marks for all the hair.

A great Face Jug with a snake for any collector! Condition: Free of chips or cracks.

Presents very well and in excellent condition. Don't use'Mint' very often but I would say this jug is in Mint condition for 1999. 6.5 Ear to Ear. 6.5 Back to Nose.
