1960s Spaulding Taylor small raku ceramic vase, features an iridescent finish in complementary palette of brown, copper, and blue, signed underneath. In very good vintage condition. Born in Buffalo New York in 1934, Spaulding Taylor holds degrees from Middlebury College in Vermont, the San Francisco Art Institute, and New York University.

He is recognized for his talents as a fine artist and has shown his paintings in the U. His works in ceramic are included in collections at the Museum of Contemporary Crafts in New York, The Oakland Museum, the City of Taipei Museum, the City of San Francisco Art Collections, as well as a number of private collections. Taylor participated in 25 group exhibitions and held 14 solo exhibitions throughout the 80's and 90's. He led guest lectures at a number of colleges until the late 90's when he refocused his efforts to a series of drawings and sketches as well as studio pottery at his residence in Sonoma, California.
