Lamps to top of socket: 19.5, 19. Lamps to top of finial: 28, 27.5. Weights (not including cords): 13 lbs.
One lamp has been newly rewired with a 3-way socket and a cord with a polarized plug, and the other lamp has the original cord and socket. Based on the original parts, I would date them to the 1980s.The piece of pottery on the lamp with the new parts is about 15 high and 12.8 wide, while the pottery of the lamp with the original parts is 14.5 high and 12.15 wide. Those numbers make them seem almost the same size, but one appears larger because the bulbous portion is higher. They dont have any cracks or major chips. Each lamp is hand thrown and hand marked all the way around to give it a neat texture. The nature of the texture means that tiny chips are inevitable. One neck has a light-colored surface mark. This pair is one of several lamps I.
Signed Brown, but I havent been able to figure out a full name. You can find other examples by the same artist if you do a Google search for pottery lamp signed brown or incised lamp signed brown. Make sure to use the quotes, or youll just get a bunch of pottery in a brown color. Theyre all about the same size, with different designs incised on the sides. _gsrx_vers_827 GS 7.0.13 (827).
